Interviews
During my internship with Lightspeed Magazine, I had the opportunity to interview several authors for Author Spotlights featured on the Lightspeed website, including:
“When it comes to retellings of Snow White, I, personally, am so over poisoned apples. Twilight’s iconic cover was the final straw. The faery woman’s pico de gallo is my more contemporary and domestic riff on the red fruit theme.”
“Although I’m a little disappointed in myself that I didn’t quote any Shakespeare. Everyone knows the best (Klingon) villains quote Shakespeare.”
“I was writing a story about the people of Ipu, and about the choice of whether or not to accept their system. And that choice becomes a lot more dramatic if the system works.”
“But war isn’t about empty machines colliding. War has enormous human cost. And it’s not just the camera-friendly pain of a soldier losing a friend or struggling with the decision to pull the trigger: It’s the mingled terror and boredom of patrolling with the chance of constant, random death, or the emotional isolation of being deployed away from friends and family.”
